Our productC-podz are intensively farmed at our land-based facility in Vanvikan, Norway. This gives us a stable production throughout the year, with no season variations.
With a closed and fully controlled production CFEED can deliver a bio-safe product. High level of water treatment throughout the whole production process eliminates risk of contamination. The production is regularly examined for both bacterial and viral pathogens. The eggs are disinfected before storage, and we have protocols for disinfecting the eggs after delivery to our customers.

We first collaborated with C-Feed in 2019 during a national project, where we tested the copepods in Greater amberjack trials. The results were promising regarding the growth and survival rates and the ontogeny of both the digestive system and the skeleton. Furthermore, the addition of the copepods in the feeding protocol showed a significant reduction in skeletal deformities.
Our collaboration with C-Feed continued with two further trials on sea bream (2020 and 2021) that confirmed the positive effect of the copepods on the growth and ontogeny of the fish.
The positive effects of copepods on the ontogeny of the fish from two species with different growth rates can confirm the importance of including them in the larvae feeding protocols.

Back in 2017 I first met Tore Remman in Barcelona during a meeting of the DIVERSIFY project when we discussed a possible collaboration to test C-Feed copepods for the larval rearing of greater amberjack. Indeed, we performed the test the same year having some interesting results as copepods actually had a positive effect on larvae survival.
We have tested again the copepods for greater amberjack larvae, in the frame of a national project between 2020 and 2023, when the positive findings were confirmed and now are part of our suggested feeding protocol for the species.
Furthermore, we tested the C-Feed copepods also for gilthead seabream larval rearing in a pilot scale trial confirming the positive effect on larvae performance. Looking forward more tests with different species!

I first met CFEED during the EAS conference in 2019 in Berlin. A few years later I decided to test copepods as a starter feed for one of the species of my farm, Diplodus puntazzo. The bottles with the product arrived and were stored in the refrigerator according to CFEED suggestions. The Cpodz hatching process and use are simple and no special skills or equipment are needed.
We fed the testing tanks with copepods for the first 8 days following by our normal protocol afterwards and at the same time a control rearing took place to compare with. After 90 days fish fed with copepods had a better survival of 37% in contrast with rotifer feeding tanks (6%), better growth rate, greater robustness and better swim bladder inflation.
We are now testing CFEED copepods for Pagrus major and Dicentrarchus labrax believing in product potential.
